Greener Slovakia also thanks to batteries

Bratislava, June 21, 2021. Members of the Slovak Battery Alliance discussed with Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission for Interinstitutional Relations and Strategic Outlook, the possibilities of Slovakia and European investments.

Maroš Šefčovič drew attention to the forthcoming EU legislation to support the battery industry, which will determine the conditions for battery production. The new battery regulation should be in force by the end of 2022. Batteries produced in Europe will have a digital passport and meet specified standards. Each battery will have a registered carbon footprint and a designated responsibility for recycling.
