Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava

Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) is the best technical university in Slovakia. According to the Slovak higher education ranking scheme prepared by ARRA, STU has long been the best university in chemical technologies, computer and technical sciences. Other world rankings list STU as the best technical university in Slovakia and third best in Slovakia and Czech Republic.

The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) is a modern research and higher education institution. It continues a legacy of the 250-year-old Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica, where the foundations of vocational and practical learning were laid. STU offers education in technical fields and serves students in research in natural sciences, computer sciences, construction, architecture, materials technologies, chemistry and food technologies.

At the international level, STU has concluded hundreds of collaboration agreements with foreign universities, university departments and research institutes. Research teams at the University are involved in international projects and annually they participate in about 500 grant-funded research projects and hundreds of research commissions of businesses. For example, in 2014 teams of STU scientists and engineers worked on 274 projects and almost 500 research projects funded through grants, 20 out of which were projects supported under the European Union's 7th Framework Programme, including the ENIAC initiative.
